Lebanon - Shadows of 1975

My family doctor was a Lebanese Maronite Christian. On a checkup one time I remember him lamenting about the war the Lebanese Muslims had declared on the Lebanese Christians. The Muslims were slaughtering nearly every Christian in Lebanon in nearly every city in Lebanon. They were stopped by the Lebanese Army in southern Lebanon, the Christian’s last stand.

The embattled Christians went into Israel and asked them for help. Israel agreed to help. Israel had been under intense rocket attacks from inside Lebanon by the Muslim terrorists who were supported by Syria. The true intent of Israel was to drive out the Islamic terrorists from the border to stop the rocket attacks, and this is still their intent today. Israel only came into Lebanon at the request of the Lebanese Christians, but history was rewritten by Islam and the Western liberal media and today the incursion is still known as an invasion or occupation by Israel.

Since 1975 Lebanon has been a war torn country, all caused by the terrorist Muslims who want to impose Sharia law on the entire country. This one time jewel of democracy in the Middle East has been a battle zone ever since 1975 and once again the Islamic terrorists are attacking and killing over accusations, over words.

Hizballah has targeted troops loyal to the Lebanese government. These attacks began after the Lebanese government stated that Hizballah’s own network of communications across Lebanon was an attack on the country’s sovereignty and declared the Hizballah network illegal. Hizballah was also accused by the government of spying on the Beirut airport and in previous days the government had fired the head of airport security amid allegations that he was spying for Hizballah.

Hizballah, in typical fashion of the terrorist organization that they are, began attacking the loyal government troops in Beirut and around the airport. Some witnesses to the hostilities stated that the fighting was the worse they had seen since the Muslims attacked the Christians in 1975 and began a war that lasted until 1990.

Armed gunmen from Hizballah stormed two tv stations that are loyal to the pro-Western Lebanese government, Future TV and al-Ekhbariya TV. Both were forced off the air by the gunmen after threats were made that the stations would be destroyed if they didn’t shut down. More typical terrorist tactics against free speech and democracy; if you don’t like what you hear, attack and kill.

In continuing typical American political blindness to the events that are occurring in Lebanon, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice issued a short statement saying that Hizballah is trying to protect its state-within-a-state. She did go on to say that Hizballah’s violence shows contempt for its fellow Lebanese. Rice’s brief statement shows again and again how ignorant American politicians are regarding the importance of Lebanon to U.S. interests in the Middle East. Lebanon, as well as Israel, are the last true Democracies in the Middle East.

If Lebanon totally falls to Islamic law, the attacks on Israel will increase dramatically. Syria and Iran will be placed in greater positions to do more harm to Israel than ever before. Lebanon is the unfortunate buffer between Israel and Islam. It is only the current pro-Western government that keeps Hizballah from implementing all-out attacks on Israel. If the “Lebanon buffer” can be taken out of the picture, a war will erupt in the Middle-East unlike any in history. It will be Israel versus all its enemies in the Middle-East.

Previously, America set a small token of troops to support Lebanon to support the Maronite Christian, pro-Western government. We [America] turned tail and ran when almost 300 U.S. Marines were killed in a single bombing. Even then (as now) this country has never understood the concept of having totally free democracies in the Middle-East. Just as Lebanon is Israel’s buffer, Israel is the United State’s buffer between Rule of Democracy and Sharia Law. Should Israel fall to its enemies, the negative shock wave to freedom and democracy will be felt around the world, and America will no longer be able to ignore just how real and dangerous the Islamic threat of Sharia Law for the entire planet is.

America and American politicians need to wake up and assist the pro-United States of America democracies of Lebanon and Israel. America needs to take troops from Iraq and place them in necessary numbers in Lebanon and Israel to protect those democracies from falling.

Should either of those countries fall, the Islamofacist movement will further their terrorist attacks against Europe and its allies and the United States of America and its allies. The Israelites will once again be enslaved and not have a home, and God will enact His vengeance against His chosen people’s enemies and foretold in His Word, the Holy Bible.

America must take a strong stand against Jihad and defend Lebanon and Israel against those who desire to bring about their destruction.
